Guide for Designing a Home for First-Time Buyers

There’s a big chance that when you put up your home for sale, the buyers are going to be first-time buyers from the Millennial demographic. This means that you need to set up your property to appeal to their tastes, and it might take more than the simple installation of wireless speakers for home use.

Here’s an idea of the improvements you can make in order to appeal to this exciting new demographic of buyers.

App Automation

The internet of things (IOT) basically means that your applications can talk to each other. But controlling them is a different matter. Millennials like being able to control plenty of things remotely, through an app on their mobile phones or tablets. So, the more of these you have on your property, the more interesting it will seem for your young buyers.

What does this mean? Basically, it means that systems like the home lighting control installation, the home entertainment system and even the garage door should be remotely controlled via mobile apps. It’s important to keep the automation sensible. But don’t skip on it.

Plug and Play Sockets

Since a lot of Millennials work on mobile devices as opposed to laptops or even bulkier workstations, they appreciate properties that include USB charging ports. These ports are cheap and easy to obtain, and you can sacrifice one socket per outlet or two to include a USB charging station.

This might not seem like a lot, but the younger generation will appreciate any seller who takes the time to install these. It shows that you’re keeping their needs in mind.
